Wietec Offers AIT-5 Tape Libraries

Wietec started offering Sony's AIT-5 technology, both for new libraries and for upgrade
of exsiting libraries from previous AIT generations.
AIT-5 is the newest tape technology, with 400GB native capacity and 24MB native transfer rate,
with 400,000H MTBF.

Wietec Installs a Remote Backup Solution for a Mainframe, through NAS-to-NAS Replication

A financial organization called Wietec to satisfy the requirement to replicate their mainframe's data to a remote site.
Wietec devised a solution in which the mainframe's data is copied to a local server, from where it is copied to
a local NAS. Using the NAS' built-in replication software, the data is then sent to a remote NAS.

Wietec Wins Bid for Fully Redundant RAID Subsystem With Infortrend's EonStor

Wietec won a bid for a fully redundant, active-active Fibre to SATA II RAID subsystem,
with Infortrend's biggest subsystem, EonStor A24-R. Competition included EMC and Nexsan.
The A24F-R is a 24-bay, dual RAID controllers subsystem. With the A24F-R's internal 8-port 2Gb hub,
a fully redundant configuration can be built for up to four servers, without the need for an external Fibre switch.

Wietec Wins Additional Orders for BoweBell + Howell Spectrum 8000XF Document Scanners

Wietec won several orders for BoweBell+Howell's Spectrum 8000XF document scanners.
The majority of these new units was ordered by Israeli scanning service bureaus, who prefered the Spectrum 8000XF
over competive products from by Kodak and Fujitsu.

Wietec Wins Bids With Spectra T50 LTO Libraries

Wietec won several bids for Spectra Logic's T50 LTO tape libraries. The T50 is a library with a modular design
and wide range of features. Features include capacity-on-demand, CoD, in which an activation key enables more slots
and access to additional capacity.

Wietec Wins Orders for BoweBell+Howell SideKick and Truper Scanners

Wietec has recently won several bids with BoweBell+Howell's SideKick and Truper document scanners,
against competition from Canon, Fujitsu and others.
Customers made their decisions following thorough evaluations of the scanners' VRS technolgy.

Wietec Offers iQstor's iQ1250 iSCSI RAID Subsystem

Wietec has started offering iQstor's iQ1250 iSCSI RAID subsystem.
The iQ1250 is bundled with a comprehensive set of storage management software, which includes
among the rest, virtualization, snapshots and database agents.

Wietec Installs a NAS-to-NAS Remote Replication Solution

A customer having two sites, called Wietec for a solution to make a copy of his data at site A,
available at site B.
The solution was achieved by installing two NAS machines. Using the NAS' built-in replication software,
the data is sent from the NAS at site A to a second NAS at the remote Site B.

Wietec Installs iSCSI SAN Systems

Wietec installed successfully IP SAN Solution built from Infortrend SCSI (or Fibre) RAID systems and SANRAD V-Switch 2000 Storage Switch. Wietec Installs Several Ingrasys NAStorage 8420 systems

Assigned as Ingrasys' sole distributor in Israel, Wietec has installed several Ingrasys NAStorage 8420 systems at customers' sites. The NAStorage 8420 is Linux based, 2U, with 8 hot-swappable Serial ATA hard disk drives, RAID 0, 1, 5 with global hot-spare and RAID expansion, NAS-to-NAS data synchronization with SmartSync for DRP, built-in Trend Micro antivirus software, built-in Tape Backup Software and Snapshots. Optional SmartExtend for virtually unlimited storage.

Wietec Partners with Proware for their High End SN-3163H NAS Subsystem

Wietec has become Proware's sole partner in Israel for their high end Network Attached Storage (NAS) file server.
The SN-3163H, with its hardware RAID controller, is a high performance 16-bay SATA II subsystem runing Proware's Linux based proNAS 1.1 OS.

Wietec Receives Orders for Ingrasys NAStorage 4420

Wietec won first customers orders for Ingrasys' NAStorage 4420 NAS file servers.
The NAStorage 4420 is a 1U, 4-bays SATA NAS system runing the same OS as the 2U, 8-bays NAStorage 8420. Key features of the Linux based NAStorage OS are:
scheduled snapshots, built-in antivirus, SmartExtend, SmartSync, and backup module.
